This case study demonstrates the application of the QSR1 for sizing of corrosion at a pipe section at a simple support location.

GUL Scanning utilises the QSR1® guided wave scanning system to quantitatively, accurately and reliably measure the minimum remaining wall thicknesses at different circumferential sections of the pipe. Currently, the main application of the QSR1® is for the sizing of corrosion at pipe supports, which is commonly referred to as Corrosion Under Pipes Support (CUPS). The QSR1® can be used as prove up tool after performing GUL Screening inspection, or as a stand-alone scanning system.
